About the role#
Johnson & Johnson is seeking two Access & Pump Engineering Co-ops to join the Cardiology team in Danvers, Massachusetts. This is a full-time, on-site, paid position. You will work on the development of access devices, components, and kits.
What you'll do#
- Conduct feasibility testing, including part inspection, root cause investigations, and mechanical testing.
- Develop and validate test methods and design fixtures.
- Prototype devices using rapid manufacturing or secondary assembly operations.
- Evaluate prototype performance metrics like usability, hemostasis, and insertion forces.
- Perform statistical analysis on collected data and compare results against baselines.
- Contribute to team discussions regarding device design and development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering degree program.
- Experience with Computer Aided Design, with a preference for SolidWorks proficiency.
- Knowledge of rapid prototype manufacturing, experimental design, and test method development.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis, mechanics, and fluid flow.
- Skills in root cause analysis and problem solving.
- Prior experience in medical device development or a regulated environment is preferred.
- Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
