About the role#
James Moore & Co. offers internship opportunities across three primary tracks: Accounting Controllership Services (ACS), Audit, and Tax. These internships provide hands-on experience by allowing you to contribute to actual client projects. You will work directly with professionals who support your development throughout the duration of your internship.
What you'll do#
Depending on your assigned track, you will perform a range of professional duties:
- Accounting Controllership Services: Manage client data entry and documentation, assist with accounts payable and receivable, process payroll, perform bank reconciliations, and prepare financial reports.
- Audit: Conduct audit procedures across financial statement areas, including cash, inventory, fixed assets, and debt. You will propose adjusting journal entries and apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Tax: Prepare individual and business tax returns, including partnerships and corporations. You will support staff with complex client files and assist with bookkeeping tasks.
- General: Collaborate with departments, maintain organized files, and ensure regulatory compliance through research and review of transactions.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to solve problems and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Successful completion or current enrollment in Tax I, Audit I, or equivalent coursework is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Daytona Beach, Florida. This is an on-site position.
- Schedule: A minimum commitment of 20 hours per week is required, with at least 4 hours per day.
- Terms: Opportunities are available for Winter, Summer, and Fall 2027.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Eligibility: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
