About the role#
This is a 4-month co-op position starting in January 2027. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support corporate safety, health, environment, and sustainability (SHES) programs. This role provides practical experience in a diverse business environment while contributing to a safe and healthy workplace.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the administration and coordination of SHES programs.
- Collect, analyze, and report on SHES data and metrics.
- Maintain documentation, records, and compliance tracking systems.
- Support incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up activities.
- Work on sustainability projects, including waste management, landfill management, and emissions tracking.
- Develop and update SHES procedures, presentations, and awareness materials.
- Participate in workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Conduct research and assist with continuous improvement projects to enhance SHES performance.
- Collaborate with team members across various departments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Industrial Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
- A strong interest in workplace health, safety, and environmental management.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Comfort engaging with employees and asking questions to improve processes.
- Previous volunteer or co-op experience related to health, safety, or environmental initiatives is an asset.
