About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in transportation brokerage operations. You will gain exposure to market dynamics, carrier negotiation strategies, and the tools used to deliver logistics solutions. The role focuses on building a carrier base and managing margins while maintaining service standards.
What you'll do#
- Participate in daily brokerage activities, including verifying carrier authenticity and maintaining shipment records.
- Monitor freight movement to ensure service expectations are met.
- Build an understanding of market trends, pricing strategies, and capacity challenges to contribute to revenue goals.
- Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers.
- Communicate service failures to minimize costs and operational inefficiencies.
- Learn to use company technology and tools to streamline workflows and manage loads.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
- Junior or Senior level standing is preferred.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and directives.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Ability to work 40 hours a week during the summer.
