About the role#
This summer internship provides hands-on experience in customer service and contact center operations. You will gain exposure to the transportation industry while learning how to manage client relationships and improve shipment operations. The role focuses on operational workflows, technology integration, and providing a high-quality experience to customers.
What you'll do#
- Work with a managed client base to improve shipment operations, including automated tracking, online booking, and managing accessorials.
- Offer solutions to clients based on their specific shipping patterns and needs.
- Build an understanding of operational factors like capacity, seasonality, and pricing, as well as how these influence customer needs and freight movement.
- Observe and practice account management strategies using J.B. Hunt service offerings and market scorecards.
- Learn the technology and tools used to streamline workflows and provide customer access to order management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in good standing.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and directives.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Junior or Senior academic standing is preferred.
