About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in transportation brokerage operations. You will learn about market dynamics, carrier negotiation strategies, and the tools used to deliver logistics solutions. This role focuses on building a carrier base and maintaining service standards while working toward revenue and margin goals.
What you'll do#
- Participate in daily brokerage activities, including verifying carrier authenticity and maintaining accurate shipment records.
- Monitor freight movement to ensure service expectations are met.
- Build an understanding of market trends, pricing strategies, and capacity challenges.
- Support carrier negotiations.
- Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers.
- Communicate service failures proactively to reduce costs and operational inefficiencies.
- Learn to use company technology and tools to streamline workflows and improve carrier access.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in good standing.
- Ability to work 15-20 hours per week during the school semester.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and directives.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Junior or Senior academic standing is preferred.

- Compensation: $15 - $24.50 per hour.
