About the role#
As a Computer Lab Support Assistant within Tutoring Services, you will provide academic and technical support to students at Ivy Tech Community College. This role focuses on helping students navigate college platforms, software, and general computer use to foster independent learning.
What you'll do#
- Assist students with general computer use and navigation of web-based applications.
- Provide support for Ivy Tech platforms including MyIvy and Canvas, as well as Microsoft Office and basic internet tasks.
- Deliver individualized and group tutoring to help students develop academic proficiency.
- Maintain accurate contact records for student interactions.
- Guide students to relevant college departments for additional support needs as required.
What you'll need#
- Current status as an Ivy Tech student in good standing with at least 12 credit hours earned, or recent graduate status (up to one semester post-graduation).
- Strong computer literacy, specifically with word processing programs.
- A working understanding of college-level academic skills.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with students.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
