About the role#
Join the Internal Market Monitoring team to support the oversight of New England’s wholesale electricity markets. You will work with a multidisciplinary group of economists, engineers, financial analysts, and data scientists to protect consumers and ensure fair market performance. This role provides direct experience in analyzing market data and understanding the transition to cleaner energy systems.
What you'll do#
- Partner with economists, engineers, and data scientists to support the implementation of market-power mitigation rules.
- Pull, organize, and analyze complex market data to identify trends and insights.
- Create clear, accessible visualizations and summaries for colleagues and management.
- Evaluate market results and participant behavior to support fair, competitive energy prices.
- Build practical knowledge of wholesale electricity markets and the regional energy transition.
What you'll need#
- Status as a rising senior.
- Majors in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or Data Science.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Experience working with large or complex data sets.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly through visuals and concise explanations.
- A self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented approach.
- Curiosity, initiative, and the ability to collaborate effectively on a team.
