About the role#
As an Operations Process Automation Developer Intern, you will work within the System Operations and Market Administration team. You will build and maintain custom software tools to improve how the electric grid operates. This role involves applying software development and data analysis to solve real-world problems that support the regional power system.
What you'll do#
- Review current software and processes used by PMO teams to find areas for improvement.
- Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain bespoke software solutions.
- Perform data analysis to support departmental decision-making.
- Collaborate with OAT staff and SOMA business teams to support ongoing projects.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least the first year of college.
- Current enrollment in a four-year or graduate-level academic program.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with relational databases and application development.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as R, Python, MATLAB, VBA, SQL, or C#.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis, as this position does not offer visa sponsorship.

- Compensation: $19 to $36 per hour, depending on your year in college.
