About the role#
Ironmark Building Company is hiring a Project Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work with Project Managers to coordinate, evaluate, and distribute the information needed to complete construction projects on time and within budget. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Mesa, Arizona.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate permitting and coordinate with city government offices.
- Manage the distribution of submittals and shop drawings.
- Assist field management with project and subcontractor scheduling.
- Track RFI and submittal documentation.
- Organize project meetings, including scheduling and taking minutes.
- Help develop punch lists and follow up on remaining work.
- Support project take-offs, bidding, and estimating.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and inspection reports.
- Gather and monitor project information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year Construction program.
- Basic knowledge of construction technology, equipment, and methods.
- Understanding of industry practices and standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to perform math calculations including algebra and geometry.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, self-starting approach.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Access to reliable transportation.
