About the role#
Ironmark Building Company is hiring an Assistant Superintendent Intern for Summer 2027. You will work on-site in Mesa, Arizona, assisting the team with project operations, daily reports, safety walks, and schedule updates. This role offers exposure to estimating, buyouts, submittals, and change management while working alongside the project Superintendent.
What you'll do#
- Manage day-to-day project operations, people, and processes.
- Support the timely, quality, and cost-effective completion of commercial projects.
- Monitor cost containment, risk management, and site safety to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Interface with staff, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain daily work documentation and submit paperwork on time.
- Coordinate trades and expedite subcontractors and suppliers to keep the project on schedule.
- Supervise on-site construction activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year Construction program.
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment, methods, and industry standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to perform math calculations including algebra and geometry.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with contractors and owners.
- A proactive, self-starting approach with a desire to learn.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Fluency in English, with the ability to write reports and business correspondence.
