About the role#
This is a full-time, paid co-op position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work directly with the Manufacturing Excellence Manager to optimize workflows, identify operational inefficiencies, and implement solutions that improve productivity. This role is a chance to apply engineering principles to real-world manufacturing challenges.
What you'll do#
- Analyze existing processes to find opportunities for improvement.
- Use lean management methodologies to reduce waste and streamline operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices.
- Collect and analyze data to measure the success of your projects.
- Update standard operating procedures and work instructions to ensure accurate documentation.
- Support training initiatives for new systems or processes.
- Prepare reports and presentations to share project outcomes with leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related degree program.
- Strong analytical skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerBI, Power Automate, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with diverse teams.
- Experience or coursework in process improvement methodologies like Lean Six Sigma is considered an asset.
