About the role#
As an Apprentice Electrician Intern, you will work directly with Journeyman and Foreman Electricians to support industrial electrical projects. This role provides hands-on experience in the field, helping you build your skills in electrical construction while working on active job sites.
What you'll do#
- Measure, cut, and bend conduit.
- Operate power tools including drills, saws, pullers, and tuggers.
- Install conductors in race way and cable tray.
- Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening wiring, conduit, and motors.
- Perform minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
- Disassemble defective electrical equipment using hand and power tools.
- Load, transport, and unload materials and tools for the crew.
- Use ladders, scaffolding, and scissor or boom lifts.
- Complete general housekeeping duties on site.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an electrical technology, electrical construction, or instrumentation AS program.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Permanent residence in or near Aberdeen, South Dakota, or a willingness to relocate permanently.
- Comfort working in high or precarious places, confined spaces, and varied weather conditions.
- Ability to comply with all safety standards.

- Location: Aberdeen, South Dakota.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time with rolling terms available. Work hours vary by project and may exceed 40 hours per week, occasionally including weekends.
