About the role#
We are hiring an Apprentice Electrician Intern to support our construction projects. You will work alongside journeyman electricians to install and maintain electrical systems in industrial environments. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Measure, cut, and bend conduit.
- Operate power tools including drills, saws, pullers, and tuggers.
- Install conductors in race way and cable tray.
- Assist with lifting, positioning, and fastening electrical components.
- Perform minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
- Disassemble defective electrical equipment.
- Load, transport, and unload materials and tools.
- Use ladders, scaffolding, and scissor or boom lifts.
- Complete housekeeping duties on site.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an electrical technology, electrical construction, or instrumentation AS program.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to work in conditions exposed to dust, various weather, and electrical shock risks.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
- Work is on-site and requires travel within a 200-mile radius.
- Expect a full-time schedule, typically between 40 and 60 hours per week, with occasional weekend work.
