About the role#
We are looking for an Apprentice Electrician Tech College Intern to join our team in the Brainerd area. This role is for students who want to gain hands-on experience while pursuing a career in the electrical trade. You will work alongside Journeyman Electricians to support industrial construction projects. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Measure, cut, and bend conduit using hand and power tools.
- Operate equipment such as drills, saws, pullers, and tuggers.
- Install conductors in race ways and cable trays.
- Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening wiring, conduit, and motors.
- Perform minor repairs including replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
- Disassemble defective electrical equipment like motors.
- Supply Journeyman and Foreman Electricians with necessary materials and tools.
- Work from ladders, scaffolding, and scissor or boom lifts.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a certificate or AS degree program for electrical technology, electrical construction, or instrumentation.
- Interest in obtaining a license through our DOL approved Electrical Apprenticeship Program.
- A valid driver license and reliable transportation.
- Permanent residency in or around the central Minnesota region.
Location & details#
- Location: Brainerd, Minnesota.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, typically 40 to 60 hours per week. Weekend work may be required based on project needs.
- Work Environment: You will work outdoors in various weather conditions, at heights, and in confined spaces. The job involves exposure to dust and requires strict adherence to safety standards.
