The Intensive Case Management (ICM) program provides support to refugees and asylees with specific needs, such as significant medical conditions, that require services beyond standard resettlement assistance. This internship offers the opportunity to support caseworkers in a client-centered environment, helping vulnerable individuals achieve self-reliance and community integration.
What you'll do#
- Map community assets and facilitate referrals to community partners.
- Assist in scheduling medical appointments for clients.
- Educate clients on U.S. healthcare and social service systems.
- Support clients in applying for social service assistance programs.
- Input client data into the IRC database.
- Communicate client concerns to ICM staff and coordinate service plans with your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Genuine interest in international and refugee issues.
- Creativity and initiative to follow through on projects.
- Enthusiasm for working in a multi-cultural setting.
- Computer literacy, preferably with PC systems.
- Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Location & details#
- Location: Atlanta, GA.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours per week for at least 3 consecutive months.
- Schedule: Internship begins the week of September 8, 2026.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
