About the role#
The Intensive Case Management (ICM) program provides support to refugees and asylees with significant needs, such as complex medical conditions, that require services beyond standard resettlement assistance. Interns work with the ICM team to help clients increase their self-reliance and community integration through a strengths-based, client-centered model.
What you'll do#
- Map community assets and facilitate referrals to community partners.
- Assist in scheduling medical appointments for clients.
- Educate clients on U.S. healthcare and social service systems.
- Help clients apply for social service assistance programs.
- Input and maintain client information within the internal database.
- Communicate client concerns to staff and coordinate service plans with your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Genuine interest in international and refugee issues.
- Creativity and initiative to follow through on assigned projects.
- Enthusiasm for working in a multi-cultural setting.
- Computer literacy, preferably with PC systems.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. Please note that sponsorship is not provided.
- Successful completion of a background check.
Location & details#
- Location: Atlanta, GA.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: This is an on-site, in-person position.
- Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours per week for at least 3 consecutive months.
- Start Date: The week of September 8, 2026.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
