The Grants Management Intern will support the International Rescue Committee in Atlanta by assisting with the pre-award grant process. This role provides exposure to the operations of a large international non-profit, focusing on donor prospecting, proposal development, and the maintenance of funding databases. This is an unpaid, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Grants Coordinator to review and refine donor prospecting strategies.
- Research and identify new funding opportunities to grow the department database.
- Maintain and update the grants calendar regularly.
- Attend relevant grants webinars and information sessions.
- Draft grant proposals for review by the Grants Coordinator or Development Director.
- Provide project support as needed and submit required hours through the volunteer dashboard.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in International Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Health, Sociology, or a related field.
- Strong writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Excel functions and general Microsoft Office programs.
- Fluency in English.
- Ability to pass a background check and commit to 15 hours per week for at least 3 consecutive months.
- Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States (sponsorship is not available).

- Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
- Term: Fall 2026, beginning the week of September 8, 2026.
- Modality: This is an on-site, in-person position.
