About the role#
The Employment Intern works with the Employment team to help refugee clients find jobs and prepare for the workforce. This role involves direct client support, administrative tasks, and case file management. This is an unpaid, in-person internship based in Tallahassee, Florida.
What you'll do#
- Research potential employers and community partners for the Employment Program.
- Provide one-on-one job readiness counseling and training to clients.
- Assist clients with completing online and paper job applications.
- Accompany refugee clients to job interviews and orientations.
- Enter case notes and data into relevant databases.
- Create and maintain client case files.
- Provide general administrative support for the Economic Empowerment team.
What you'll need#
- Strong interest in working with an international population.
- Proficiency with employment-related activities.
- Proven ability to work with consideration and respect for cross-cultural differences.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate professionalism.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and internet research.
- Must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle.
Location & details#
- Location: Tallahassee, FL.
- Term: Fall 2026, beginning the week of September 8, 2026.
- Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours per week for at least 3 consecutive months.
- Schedule: Primarily weekdays between 9 AM and 5 PM, with occasional weekend activities.
- Status: Unpaid.
