The Anti-Trafficking Casework Intern supports the anti-trafficking team in providing services to survivors of human trafficking. This role focuses on identifying and providing community resources to improve client self-sufficiency, as well as assisting with community awareness and outreach efforts. Interns will gain experience in trauma-informed, client-centered care, asset mapping, and client advocacy. This is an unpaid, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Assist the program coordinator with client intake services, including needs assessments and service planning.
- Provide direct services to clients, including enrolling individuals in public benefits and making referrals to community partners.
- Conduct research on local community resources.
- Perform outreach to local organizations to establish community partnerships.
- Manage administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and maintaining client case notes.
- Communicate case statuses and client concerns to the supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- An interest in international issues and a strong desire to help people.
- Proficiency with PC systems and access to the internet.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable access to an insured vehicle.
- Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a background check.
- Preferred majors include Psychology, Sociology, Human Resources, or International Relations.
Location & details#
- Locations: Tallahassee, FL or Miami, FL.
- Term: Fall 2026, beginning the week of September 8, 2026.
- Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours per week for at least 3 consecutive months.
- Schedule: Primarily weekdays, 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional weekend activities.
- Travel: Travel within the Tallahassee region may be required.
