About the role#
The Inter-American Development Bank is hiring an undergraduate intern for the Winter 2027 program. This is a paid, full-time position based at our headquarters in Washington, D.C. You will support the Front Office team with administrative operations and internal communications while gaining experience in international development and corporate management.
What you'll do#
- Create clear, visual step-by-step guides for internal administrative procedures like travel authorizations and expense reporting.
- Manage and optimize internal trackers, specifically for contract and mission information in Excel.
- Standardize the division's shared file systems to improve navigation and consistency.
- Assist the Front Office team with daily tasks such as scheduling, document preparation, and mailbox maintenance.
- Help translate technical or procedural information into accessible internal communications for staff.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an undergraduate program in Business Administration, Communications, International Relations, Economics, or a related field.
- Completion of at least your second year of undergraduate study.
- A graduation date that falls after the internship period.
- Fluency in English and a working knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data organization.
- Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint or visual design tools like Canva.
- Citizenship from an IDB member country.
- You must be a first-time participant in an IDB Group Internship Program and not a former staff member, contractor, or member of the complementary workforce.
- No family members up to the fourth degree of consanguinity or second degree of affinity currently working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
