About the role#
The Inter-American Development Bank is hiring a graduate student for a paid, full-time internship during the Winter 2027 term. This position is based in Washington D.C. and offers experience in development work and corporate management. You will work as an intern consultant for a duration of two months.
What you'll do#
- Support the development of dashboards to monitor the Sector's portfolio, including operational deadlines and disbursement indicators.
- Create a country snapshot tool that consolidates data from multiple systems for senior management.
- Build structured datasets from institutional documents to support AI tools.
- Assist in the design, testing, and evaluation of artificial intelligence agents used to review project documents.
- Analyze portfolio and quality data to identify trends and document the tools and methods developed for the team.
What you'll need#
- You must be an active graduate student in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or Public Policy, with at least 50% of your coursework completed.
- Your graduation date must be after the internship period ends.
- You must be a national of an IDB member country.
- Fluency in English is required, along with a working knowledge of another Bank language such as Spanish, French, or Portuguese.
- Technical proficiency in Power BI, Python or R, and experience with generative AI tools like Microsoft Copilot are expected.
- This must be your first time participating in an internship program at the IDB or IDB Invest.
- You must not have family members currently working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
