    About the role#

    The Institutional Capacity of the State Division is seeking a graduate intern to support the Transparency and Integrity thematic area. This role focuses on developing a web-based analytical tool for Latin America and the Caribbean to strengthen evidence-based policy dialogue. You will work with Bank specialists to turn an analytical concept into a functional prototype that demonstrates the value of integrated country evidence.

    What you'll do#

    • Compile, validate, and structure international indicators and secondary evidence, including metadata and methodological limitations.
    • Develop a working web dashboard proof of concept that allows users to explore country profiles, trends, and cross-country comparisons.
    • Integrate source documentation and build functionality to generate or export standardized Country Integrity Snapshots.
    • Prepare evidence-based interpretations of country patterns to support regional analysis.
    • Deliver a functional prototype, supporting data and code, technical documentation, and a final demonstration.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a graduate program (master’s or Ph.D.) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
    • Completion of at least 50% of your graduate coursework.
    • Graduation date set after the internship period.
    • Citizenship from an IDB member country.
    • Fluency in English.
    • Experience with interactive dashboards, Python or R, and AI-assisted tools.
    • Familiarity with transparency, integrity, anti-corruption, financial integrity, and international development.
    • You must not have family members working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
    • You must be a first-time participant in an IDB Internship Program and not a former staff member, contractor, or CW.

    • Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States.
    • Term: Winter 2027 (January 16th to March 15th, 2027).
    • Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
    • Status: Paid internship.
