About the role#
The Inter-American Development Bank is hiring a graduate student for a paid, full-time internship in Washington, D.C. This program offers hands-on experience in development work and corporate management. You will work as an intern consultant for two months during the winter of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Develop data-driven solutions to improve portfolio monitoring and efficiency.
- Review and refine Power BI and Tableau dashboards to track portfolio quality and trends.
- Identify, map, and integrate key data sources to improve data accessibility, extraction, and validation.
- Maintain centralized dashboards that consolidate portfolio performance, compliance, and operational metrics.
- Map key portfolio management processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
What you'll need#
- You must be an active graduate student in computer science, data science, industrial engineering, or a related field at an accredited university.
- You should have completed at least 50% of your graduate coursework.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese is a plus.
- Ability to work with large datasets and multiple data sources.
- Experience with dashboard design and KPI development is preferred.
- Proficiency in SQL and Advanced Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables) is highly desirable.
- You must be a first-time participant in an IDB Group internship program and have no family members currently working at the IDB or IDB Invest.

- Term: January 16th to March 15th, 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Modality: On-site.
