About the role#
We are looking for a Catastrophe Risk Analyst Intern to join our Actuarial team in Plymouth, Minnesota. This is a full-time, paid internship for the summer of 2027. You will spend 10 to 12 weeks gaining experience in property-casualty insurance through hands-on work and training. This role operates on a hybrid schedule.
What you'll do#
- Assist professionals with day-to-day job assignments within the Actuarial division.
- Support special projects focused on catastrophe modeling, account pricing, and data analysis.
- Develop foundational skills in risk management and insurance operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Risk Management, Programming, Natural Sciences, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date of spring 2027 or later.
- Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Experience with data entry and spreadsheet applications.
- Strong analytical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Effective written and oral communication skills, plus good organization habits.
