About the role#
Inmar Intelligence offers a Summer 2027 internship program designed to provide students with real-world exposure to a professional environment. Interns contribute to company initiatives while working alongside experienced security professionals. You will split your time between a cross-functional team project and specific responsibilities assigned by your manager. This role is based on-site in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Support initiatives across security operations, vulnerability management, identity and access management, infrastructure security, cloud security, threat detection, or incident response.
- Monitor and analyze security information to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, or areas of risk.
- Assist with security investigations, analysis, documentation, and follow-up activities.
- Contribute to infrastructure and cloud security initiatives.
- Help automate security processes, controls, testing, or configurations.
- Support threat modeling and detection initiatives.
- Research emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, vulnerabilities, and industry practices.
- Contribute to governance, risk, compliance, data protection, policy, or security awareness initiatives.
- Document security processes, configurations, requirements, findings, and best practices.
- Collaborate with Security, Engineering, Infrastructure, DevOps, Product, and other teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Foundational understanding of networking, operating systems, cloud computing, cybersecurity concepts, or software development.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to investigating and solving problems.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
- Curiosity about cybersecurity threats, technologies, and security practices.
- Eagerness to learn new tools and concepts.
