About the role#
The Student Accessibility Services Coordinator supports students with disabilities by managing academic accommodations and ensuring equal access to college programs. This role involves working directly with students to develop individualized plans while ensuring the institution remains in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. You will act as a primary contact for students and collaborate with faculty to promote inclusive learning environments.
What you'll do#
- Review and determine eligibility for student accommodation requests.
- Develop and monitor individualized accommodation plans.
- Coordinate academic support services, including testing, note-taking, and assistive technology.
- Maintain secure and confidential student records.
- Provide training and consultation to faculty and staff regarding accessibility practices.
- Support outreach initiatives to increase awareness of accessibility services.
- Manage operational expenditures and ensure adherence to budget parameters.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Five years of experience in student services, advising, or disability support.
- Knowledge of federal regulations including the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
- Experience supporting students with a wide range of learning, physical, and psychological disabilities.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
