Independent Women offers a structured internship program for college students seeking real-world experience in public policy. Interns are assigned to a single department—such as Communications, Policy Advocacy, or Investor Relations—where they provide critical support to their teams. This is a paid, part-time position designed to provide professional training and hands-on experience in your chosen field.
What you'll do#
- Support your assigned department by managing regular tasks and drafting necessary project outputs.
- Participate in training sessions for relevant software tools.
- Manage your daily schedule to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
- Engage deeply with your department's specific mission and objectives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university degree program, or a recent graduate, with a high school diploma or GED.
- Academic background in Communications, Political Science, Government, or related policy areas is preferred.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, including Docs, Sheets, Gmail, and Meet.
- Access to a reliable internet connection and a working laptop or desktop computer.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively without procrastination.
- A teachable attitude and a commitment to the mission and policy stances of Independent Women.
Location & details#
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Work Modality: This position is 100% remote.
- Time Commitment: Approximately 20 hours per week, typically within the 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time window.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship providing a monthly stipend.
