Graphic Design Intern

About the role#

Illumination is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to join the Consumer Products team for the Summer 2026 term. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside lead designers and artists to gain experience in the licensed and consumer products industry.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with a team of artists to hone design skills.
• Partner with lead designers on various projects, including the development of style guides and creative product support.
• Create internal and external media graphic materials, marketing assets, and presentations.
• Research and create trend boards.
• Design new concepts, graphics, and layouts, including preparing rough drafts and presenting ideas.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a College or University, pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Communications, or Art.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Demonstrated skills and a willingness to learn principles of typography, color, layout, and production.
• Ability to take creative direction and incorporate feedback into work.
• A graphic design portfolio must be submitted for consideration.
• Authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Location & details#

• Location: Santa Monica, California.
• Commitment: 40 hours per week for 8 weeks.
• Work Modality: On-site (4 days per week in the Santa Monica studio, 1 day remote).
• Compensation: $17.28 per hour.
