About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting while completing your pharmacy degree. You will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to assist with daily operations, inventory management, and patient care.
What you'll do#
- Provide prompt, friendly customer service to all patients.
- Fill and process prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Prepare prescription containers and affix labels.
- Assist with inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and monthly inventory counts.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Protect the confidentiality of customer medical information.
- Counsel and advise customers while interacting professionally with healthcare providers.
- Follow all security, regulatory, and Quality Assurance programs.
- Assist in training pharmacy employees and participate in special projects.
- Adhere to company policies and report to work on time.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Active registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Six months or less of similar work experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending.
- Ability to count, pour, package, and label medications accurately.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
