About the role#
The Chief of Staff Intern works directly with our CEO and Chief of Staff. You will support the company during the production run of our first 1,000 units. This is a hands-on role where you own specific workstreams rather than shadowing. You should be comfortable taking a half-formed task and building a plan to execute it.
What you'll do#
- Draft memos, investor update sections, and partner communications.
- Manage scheduling logistics and prepare for external meetings.
- Maintain the Ashby hiring pipeline and support sourcing outreach for open roles.
- Track manufacturing logistics including bills of materials and paperwork.
- Maintain board materials and documentation.
- Convert technical milestones into content such as photos and videos.
- Support event logistics and handle ad-hoc special projects.
What you'll need#
- Evidence that you have built something real at a student scale.
- Comfort with unglamorous work and the ability to switch between varied tasks.
- Sharp writing ability to draft content for others.
- Genuine curiosity about robotics.
- Organizational instinct to keep multiple threads moving independently.
- A specific strength beyond generalist work that you can demonstrate to the team.

- This role is based on-site in San Francisco, California.
- The internship is full-time and paid.
