About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op, you will support our manufacturing, design, and engineering teams at our Iron Mountain facility. This role involves direct contributions to our production processes and infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the implementation of safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements.
- Design fixtures, carts, and tooling for the shop floor.
- Research and justify new capital equipment using A3 methodology.
- Create methods for standard work procedures.
- Participate in Rapid Improvement (Kaizen) events.
- Help with problem solving efforts and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Collaborate with design engineers to implement design changes.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or a related field (2nd year or higher preferred).
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as welding, metal cutting, forming, painting, assembly, and serviceability.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Experience with 3D modeling using AutoCAD or Creo is preferred.
- Mechanical or construction aptitude and hands-on design experience.
- Background in 3D printing and fixture design is a plus.
