About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will support our team in the design, build, and deployment of custom automated equipment. You will work alongside Applications, Controls, and Build teams to gain hands-on experience in the automation industry. This is a paid, full-time position for the Summer 2027 term, running from May 2027 through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Create detail drawing packages and check peer packages for accuracy.
- Develop conceptual designs for sales, quoting, and customer review.
- Update CAD models based on redline drawings after machines are built.
- Complete machine layouts and detail all individual components.
- Manage mechanical bills of material and stock sizes.
- Create DXF files for burnouts and machining processes.
- Coordinate with vendors to size and quote purchased items.
- Solve practical problems that lack standard solutions.
- Present information effectively to customers and internal teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college program pursuing an engineering degree.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience reviewing and understanding technical drawings.
- Computer literacy in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with Pro Engineer is preferred.
