About the role#
Hitachi Energy is seeking an intern for a 6-month term starting in January 2027. You will join our Stoney Creek facility to support continuous improvement initiatives. This role focuses on lean management principles, including kaizen events and cost-savings projects.
What you'll do#
- Manage various projects from start to finish.
- Collaborate with CI leadership, the factory manager, finance teams, and external vendors.
- Create purchase orders in SAP alongside our buyer.
- Design mechanical components for projects using CAD software when needed.
- Support 5S and visual management project implementation.
- Lead and work alongside a team of factory employees.
- Prepare and submit reports once projects are complete.
What you'll need#
- Completion of your third year in a bachelor’s degree program for Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Intent to return to your studies after the work term.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor, or Solidworks.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of lean management, quality, and continuous improvement.
