About the role#
This is a 16-month internship focused on supporting component management and hardware design processes. You will gain experience in an engineering environment while contributing to the maintenance of component databases and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Manage the component database and create new part numbers.
- Maintain the component database (AMPL) in SAP and Windchill.
- Ensure compliance with REACH and RoHS standards.
- Perform part obsolescence analysis and identify alternate component solutions.
- Research and test alternate components to support hardware design.
- Collaborate with Industrialization, Localization, Procurement, and suppliers to resolve end-of-life issues.
- Prepare component specifications for all component families.
- Streamline information transfer to contract manufacturers.
- Work with the Product HSE team to ensure ongoing compliance.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Engineering Science, or Engineering Physics degree program.
- Completion of at least the third year of an undergraduate degree.
- Availability for a 16-month co-op term with at least one academic semester remaining after the internship.
- Knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical component characteristics and drawings.
- Awareness of HSE requirements, such as fire, smoke, toxicity, shock, and vibration standards.
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is considered an asset.

- Work Modality: Hybrid (note that the first two weeks require onsite attendance five days per week).
