About the role#
This is a 10-week paid summer internship based in Dodge City, Kansas. You will work on projects alongside our employees to gain professional experience in food and beverage manufacturing. The role involves hands-on work in our production facilities to help create dairy products, protein supplements, and ingredients.
What you'll do#
- Find cost-effective methods for manufacturing dairy products.
- Collect and analyze data through sampling.
- Create proposals to lower operating costs and reduce product losses or quality variations.
- Work with plant control systems including PLCs, Wonderware SCADA, and electrical systems.
- Identify causes of waste in manufacturing processes and recommend solutions.
- Develop standard work processes to sustain improvements.
What you'll need#
- Completion of your sophomore year at a university.
- Current enrollment in an Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Manufacturing degree program.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Clear oral and written communication abilities.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
