About the role#
This internship offers you the chance to explore career paths within an insurance brokerage. You will work alongside experienced team members to gain hands-on experience and contribute to real-world projects. Interns have the opportunity to travel to the corporate office in Richmond, VA, to network with leaders and participate in volunteer events. This role may lead to full-time employment after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Rotate through Personal Lines and Commercial Lines departments to learn about different types of coverage.
- Help the account management team with renewals, endorsements, policy documentation, and administrative work.
- Perform data entry, reporting, and quality checks in the agency management system to keep records accurate.
- Join producers in client appointments and sales meetings to observe best practices.
- Work on special projects that improve internal processes or the client experience.
- Develop professional communication skills by working with internal stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- Ability to commute to the Hammond, LA office.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A curious and motivated mindset with a desire to learn about the insurance industry.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related fields.
