About the role#
The Construction Co-Op program introduces students to office and field operations within the commercial construction industry. You will work under the guidance of corporate managers, project managers, or field superintendents to gain hands-on experience in how construction projects transition from design to reality. This role involves professional interactions with management, consulting professionals, clients, and various trade partners.
What you'll do#
- Learn and interpret project design drawings and specifications.
- Capture and document project site photographs to record progress and existing conditions.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining Request for Information (RFI) logs.
- Prepare daily project reports summarizing site activities.
- Attend and participate in safety meetings, walkthroughs, and toolbox talks.
- Collaborate with project teams to prepare meeting minutes for subcontractor and owner meetings.
- Gain exposure to submittal processes and material approval workflows.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or related engineering degree program.
- A strong desire to pursue a career in construction management.
- Strong business writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in, or a strong willingness to learn, construction software applications.

- Requirements: Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Ongoing random testing is required for all employees.
