About the role#
The Construction Co-Op program introduces students to both office and field operations within the commercial construction industry. You will work under the guidance of project managers and superintendents to gain hands-on experience in how construction projects move from design concepts to physical reality. This role involves professional interactions with management, field workers, consulting professionals, and clients.
What you'll do#
- Learn and interpret project design drawings and specifications.
- Capture and document site photographs to track construction progress.
- Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager in preparing and maintaining RFI logs.
- Collaborate with the team to prepare weekly meeting minutes for subcontractor and project meetings.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protection equipment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited degree program for civil engineering, construction management, or a related architectural or engineering field.
- A strong desire to work in construction management and learn about the industry.
- Proficiency in, or a strong willingness to learn, various construction software applications.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- Strong competency in business writing and public presentation skills.
