About the role#
HDR is seeking a Water Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship based in Tampa, Florida. You will work within our Water Business Group to support projects involving water treatment, distribution, and infrastructure resilience.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers and project teams with planning, design, and analysis for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Support the development of sustainable solutions for water treatment, distribution, collection, and reuse systems.
- Participate in field visits, site inspections, and project meetings.
- Analyze data, prepare calculations, and assist in developing technical reports and design documents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex infrastructure challenges.
- Gain exposure to technologies and engineering practices used in the industry.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program, specifically in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
- A commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
- Preferred: At least 2 years completed toward your degree with a 3.0+ GPA.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to your field of study.
- A passion for water, sustainability, environmental stewardship, and community impact.
