About the role#
HDR is hiring a Transportation Roadway Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will join the Transportation Business Group to gain hands-on experience in the design and development of roadway infrastructure. This role provides an opportunity to work alongside professional engineers and project managers on active projects.
What you'll do#
- Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to project tasks.
- Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager.
- Gain real-world experience by contributing to ongoing infrastructure projects.
- Connect with company leaders and recent graduates through mentorship and professional development programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program, with a preference for Civil Engineering majors.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Attention to detail when completing technical tasks.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- A commitment to participating in our employee-owned culture.
- Preference is given to local or regional candidates who have completed at least two years of their degree with a 3.0 or higher GPA.

- This is a paid, full-time internship based on-site in El Paso, Texas.
