About the role#
As a Substation Electrical Engineering Intern, you will join our Power sector to support the physical design of electrical substations. You will work alongside experienced engineers to contribute to the reliability and resilience of power systems. This role involves working under the direct supervision of a Project Lead or Project Manager to complete assignments and gain practical experience in the energy industry.
What you'll do#
- Focus on the physical design of electrical substations.
- Create and modify substation physical drawings, including markups.
- Assist with the specification and procurement of major equipment.
- Perform AC/DC system calculations based on current and future load requirements.
- Apply industry standard engineering tools, techniques, and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program, specifically Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software packages relevant to your field of study.
- Preference for candidates who have completed at least two years of their degree with a 3.0 or higher GPA.

- This position is located in Saint Louis Park, Minnesota.
- The role is on-site and full-time.
- This is a paid internship with a rolling term.
