About the role#
As a Substation Electrical CO-OP, you will work on power projects under the direct supervision of a professional engineer or Project Manager. You will gain experience in substation design while contributing to the development of reliable power systems. This role is a paid, full-time position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Create and modify substation physical drawings, including equipment selection and placement based on project scope.
- Perform grounding studies to mitigate step and touch potentials.
- Develop and update substation wiring diagrams and control schematics.
- Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to project tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- A solid understanding of basic circuit analysis and fundamental electrical laws.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with software packages related to the electrical engineering field.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Preference is given to candidates with at least two years of coursework completed and a 3.0 or higher GPA.
