About the role#
HDR is seeking a Structural Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Columbus, Ohio. You will work within the Building Engineering department to gain practical experience on professional projects.
What you'll do#
- Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to project tasks.
- Complete assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager.
- Connect with company leaders and recent graduates through mentoring and young professionals programs.
- Assist with various project duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate Civil Engineering program.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A commitment to participating in an employee-owned culture.
- Completion of at least 2 years of degree coursework is preferred.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Knowledge of software packages relevant to the industry is preferred.
- Local candidates are preferred.
