About the role#
As a Site Civil Intern within the Building Engineering Services Group, you will contribute to the design of infrastructure and site development projects. This position involves working with engineers to manage project tasks from the initial concept phase through to construction. You will be expected to work independently, manage your time across multiple projects, and communicate effectively with team members and clients.
What you'll do#
- Research and document project due diligence.
- Create site layouts that meet jurisdictional requirements.
- Coordinate with authorities to determine submittal needs and design solutions.
- Perform technical calculations for site development, including stormwater pond sizing, pipe capacity, and hydrology.
- Design and produce plan sets, specifications, details, and cost estimates.
- Assist with community outreach and attend client meetings.
- Transition plans through schematic and construction design phases.
- Coordinate with subconsultants for design support.
- Write clear, organized, and technically sound reports.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate Civil Engineering program.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
