About the role#
As a Roadway Engineering Intern, you will support our Transportation Business Group in Madison. You will work under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager to gain practical experience in infrastructure design and project delivery.
What you'll do#
- Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Learn local and state design requirements.
- Perform design calculations, plan production, and cost estimates.
- Support quality control reviews.
- Use technical software such as Microstation Open Roads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Participate in mentoring and young professionals programs to connect with company leaders and recent graduates.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and basic Microsoft Office skills.
- A commitment to participating in our employee-owned culture.
- We prefer candidates who have completed at least two years of their degree with a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- We prefer candidates with demonstrated knowledge of industry-related software.
- Local candidates are preferred.

- The position is on-site and full-time.
- This is a paid internship.
