    About the role#

    As a Roadway Engineering Intern, you will join the Transportation Business Group at HDR. You will work on projects that support the movement of people and goods through highways and infrastructure. This position offers the chance to learn from experienced professionals while contributing to real engineering assignments.

    What you'll do#

    • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to project tasks.
    • Learn local and state design requirements.
    • Perform design calculations, plan production, and cost estimates.
    • Support quality control reviews under the supervision of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager.
    • Gain experience with technical software including Microstation Open Roads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
    • Connect with company leaders and recent graduates through mentoring and young professionals programs.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate Civil Engineering program.
    • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
    • Attention to detail and basic Microsoft Office skills.
    • A commitment to participating in an employee-owned culture.
    • Preference for candidates who have completed at least 2 years of their degree with a 3.0 or higher GPA.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of industry software packages.
    • Local candidates are preferred.
