About the role#
As a Power Intern, you will work on power delivery projects while gaining experience under the supervision of a licensed engineer or project manager. You will connect with company leaders and recent graduates through our mentorship and young professionals programs. This role is on-site and requires a commitment of up to 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Apply standard electrical engineering techniques and procedures.
- Support substation design projects by working on project drawings.
- Assist with data entry and project filing for deliverables.
- Perform other tasks as needed to support the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program.
- An Electrical Engineering major with a focus on Power.
- Completion of at least three years toward your degree with a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Completed coursework in Basic Circuits Analysis and Electric Machines.
- Interest in high voltage power system design and protection.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills and knowledge of industry-related software.
- A commitment to participating in our employee-owned culture.
- An inquisitive mind.
