    About the role#

    As a Power Intern, you will contribute to active utility projects and gain experience in how engineering concepts become infrastructure. You will work on power generation, transmission, and distribution projects. This role involves visiting project sites, preparing calculations, and creating drawings. You will collaborate across disciplines to solve utility challenges and meet project requirements. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.

    What you'll do#

    • Support substation layouts, drawing development, and equipment specifications.
    • Assist electrical engineers with power system studies, grounding, and electrical calculations.
    • Contribute to renewable integration, technical specifications, and procurement support.
    • Support combined-cycle and hydropower projects involving electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural design.
    • Take ownership of calculations, design deliverables, and project tasks.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program, specifically Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
    • At least two years of coursework completed and a 3.0 or higher GPA is preferred.
    • Familiarity with engineering software such as Bentley, Autodesk, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, or Civil 3D.
    • Basic Microsoft Office skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

    • This is an on-site position.
    • Locations available: Nashville, TN; Chattanooga, TN; or Lexington, KY.
