About the role#
HDR is seeking an Interior Design Intern to join our team in Seattle. This role provides an opportunity to gain experience in the design process from programming through construction administration. You will work under the supervision of architects and project managers while collaborating with production staff and various design disciplines. This is a full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the architectural design process and develop presentation graphics for clients.
- Create design development drawings and physical models.
- Collaborate with staff to complete technical construction drawings.
- Conduct code reviews under the guidance of an architect.
- Learn operational plans and project processes from leadership.
- Contribute to team discussions and help develop design solutions.
- Encourage sustainable practices throughout project phases.
- Connect with company leaders and recent graduates through our mentoring and young professionals programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited school.
- Proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
- Developing verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes Bluebeam, Rhino, and Enscape.
- Preferred status as an active member in industry associations and possession of sustainability credentials or certificates.

- This position is based on-site in Seattle, Washington.
- The role is paid and full-time, with a rolling term.
