About the role#
As an Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Intern, you will work within our Building Engineering Services Group. You will gain practical experience by supporting multidisciplinary teams on building projects. You will work under the supervision of a professional or Project Manager to help plan, design, and deliver these projects. This position offers opportunities to connect with company leaders and recent graduates through mentoring and young professionals programs.
What you'll do#
- Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to project tasks.
- Assist with the preparation of drawings, models, renderings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Collaborate with architects and other engineering professionals, including mechanical, electrical, structural, and plumbing teams.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and site visits.
- Conduct research on building systems, codes, sustainability initiatives, and emerging technologies.
- Use industry-standard software and digital tools to support project development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
- A commitment to participating in our employee-owned culture.
- At least two years completed toward your degree with a 3.0 or higher GPA is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software related to your field of study.
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, SketchUp, or other design software is a plus.
